We hope you are all keeping well and we look forward to seeing you on the fairways over the coming months. We have had a successful start to the year so far with great events since the start of the season. The New Year Cup took place in Vale do Lobo on the Ocean course on Wednesday 31st January 2024. With a great score of 40 points Mike Orr took the New Year Cup home. Congratulations and well done to Mike. Our Captain’s Day took place in Penina on Wednesday 28th February and what a beautiful day it was. Penina Golf course was certainly at its best and was enjoyed by the large field of golfers. The Captain’s Cup Prize Winner 2024 – Dawn Quinn with great score of 37pts. Congratulations to Dawn on a great win. In the same week as our Captain’s Day, the very popular February two day event took place in Pinheiros Altos. This event is generously sponsored by our good friends in IL Trio Restaurant. There were some close contenders but John Ryan played a great game over the two days to take the Il Trio Trophy for 2024. John was very generous in his praise of the event, the great meal provided for golfers and guests by Il Trio and of the great support he received from all his friends there. Congratulations John, and we all look forward to next year when we get to do it all again! The Antonio Guerreiro Memorial Trophy was played at the regular venue at Salgados Golf Club. Mr. President, Aurelio played in the event and also put on a fine buffet for all the golfers and their partners back at the bar to complete a very enjoyable day. The Antonio Guerreiro Memorial Trophy 2024 was won by Mark Pattison with great score of 34pts. playing off a 6 Handicap. Congratulations to Mark on a great win. The Algarve Express Trophy 2024 was played at the Penina Golf club with lovely weather. The course was well presented and in good condition with excellent greens and fairways. Mr. President, Aurelio put on a fine buffet sponsored by Algarve Express transport Services. All the golfers and their partners enjoyed the fine buffet back at the bar. Another very enjoyable event among friends. The Algarve Express Trophy Prize Winner 2024 - Michael Orr with great score of 38 points. Congratulations to Michael on a great win.Upcoming Events:

The Als Bar Cup will be played in Silves Golf Club on 29th May. Another popular course and there are a few places available on the time sheet. All details and booking is available on the website.June:
In June there will be two events. First up will be the ever popular, Sardine Day on 5th June. We look forward to playing this event in the new Ombria Golf Club. Of course, everybody invited back to Al’s bar for the fabulous sardine BBQ and presentation.The second event in June will be the Presidents Putter. which will take place on 26th June in Vale da Pinta Golf Club.
July:
The Secretary Salver event will be played in Ombria Golf Club on 31st July 2024. Straight back to Al’s bar after golf for the Presentation.August:
The Summer Cup event will be played at O’Connor Golf Club Amendeoira on 28th August. We will be heading straight back to Al’s bar after golf for Presentation.We look forward to seeing all our golfing friends and guests at the very popular events over the next few months. Of course nothing happens by magic so many thanks to Andy for all the booking of our golf events for the year. Much appreciated.
