Aurelio invites customers of the Als' Bar to join our Golf Society for our great golf away days across the Algarve.
A Brief History and Aims of the Society: Al’s Bar Golf Society was established as the Pacifico Bar Golf Society in the very early years of the current millennium. The name of the Society changed in late 2019 after the excellent refurbishment of the original Pacifico Bar and change of name to Al’s Bar.
The original aims of the Society hold true today and will remain the focus for the future.
These are:
- To enable ‘mine host’ Aurelio (Al) to spend Social time with his friends on the golf course and away from the bar.
- To enable those friends and patrons of the bar to enjoy competitive and enjoyable golf in a relaxed and friendly environment, and finally,
- To provide a fantastic venue and relaxed environment where those who play are able to socialise ‘post golf’ whilst ruing Putts that didn’t drop, Drives that didn’t soar and Points that slipped away.
Since inception, the Society has grown and thrived. This is substantially attributable to the popularity of Al and the bar. Additionally, the ongoing commitment of a number of individuals has been instrumental in ensuring its success. To paraphrase a well known lager manufacturer, Al’s bar golfing society is ‘probably the best in Portugal’.
Society days take place on the last Wednesday of each month. These days are supplemented by additional events such as ‘The Airport Transfer Day’ in January, ’The Il Trio’ two day tournament in February, Sardine Day’ in June, and the ‘Click Deck Trophy’ a second two day tournament held in September.
The Society is very appreciative of the support given by our many, and increasing number of event sponsors.
Over the course of a year there are now over 600 tee times available. These can be booked online - but don’t delay, they fill up quickly.
The Society has always enjoyed very strong support from a large, and growing membership. Guests have always been and remain very, very welcome to join us in all events.
Golf Event Fixtures for 2024:
It has been agreed that the golf dates for 2024 would be the THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
A list of the dates for each month throughout 2024 has now be placed on the website.
