During the past 25-30 years the fishing village of Carvoeiro has changed into one of the most important tourist areas in the Algarve.

Carvoeiro is a traditional Portuguese holiday resort town, which is located along a rugged coastline of golden beaches and stunning cliff top scenery. These attributes attracted a large influx of visitors in the sixties from UK, and later other nationalities from across Europe discovered the picturesque village and attractions which is now a vibrant town with a variety of holidaymakers returning year after year.

The centre of Carvoeiro isn't very big and there are just two roads leading down into the town square behind the beach, where are plenty of shops in the town for people who require shopping therapy for your everyday needs. The cliff tops around Carvoeiro have new boardwalks for even more walking routes with and some great views.

Carvoeiro offers 3 local golf courses, namely Gramacho Golf Course, Vale da Pinta, and a nine hole course at Vale de Milho Golf there are a further three more courses within a short drive away - Silves Golf Course, Morgado, and Alamos.
